Bird Resources

Bird Websites:
1. http://www.allaboutbirds.org -

Great reference for IDing birds and for some brief overvview about them.
Also, you can listen to the songs of each bird, which will help you to find them when birding.

Bird Field Guides:
1. Sibley's Birds of Eastern North America.
This is what I use and think it's a wonderful reference

2. Peterson Field Guide to Birds of Eastern and Central America.
Also pretty good.

Binoculars:
If you are just starting out birding and don't want to spend a ton of money on binoculars, then I recommend buying the Bushnell Falcon 7 X 35 Binoculars. For under $30, you can't beat the price and the quality is amazing. They are perfect for beginners and intermediate birders. They also are great for kids, because the "insta focus" features allows for easy focusing.

Another recommended option is the Eagle Optics Shrike 8 X 42 Binoculars. These are $100, the quality of the binoculars are outstanding. For me everything is crystal clear. Definitely one step up from the Bushnells.

To review, if you are just starting out, get the Bushnells. If you are looking for something a little better go for the Eagle Optics.

I don't own any super fancy binos such as Zeiss or Swarovski, so I cannot vouch for them. If you do, comment below and let us know how they are!
